Kalyan: Mahavitaran’s Kalyan circle has provided 3,751 new electricity connections within the first eight days of its ongoing Right to Service Fortnight.
The special drive, running from April 28 to May 12, aims to fast-track pending consumer requests and ensure timely service delivery under the Maharashtra Right to Service Act.
Officials reported that all 90 pending applications for name changes on electricity bills have been cleared, along with the resolution of 1,563 out of 1,644 complaints and applications submitted via the Mahavitaran portal.
The initiative follows orders from Dilip Jagdale, joint managing director of Mahavitaran's Konkan regional division, who has called for effective implementation of citizen services across the region. Chief Engineer Chandramani Mishra has directed staff in the Kalyan Circle to prioritise pending cases during the fortnight.
Out of 5,732 applications for new electricity connections that were pending at the start of the drive, more than 65% have already been processed. Work is ongoing to clear the remaining 1,981 applications and 81 online complaints in the coming days.
