If you’ve ever dreamt of joining the wild tomato fight made famous by Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Hyderabad is about to turn that dream into reality — no passport required. Scheduled for May 11, Toma Terra will mark India’s introduction to the tomato-throwing celebration inspired by Spain’s famous La Tomatina, right in the heart of Telangana.
Toma Terra, hosted by Prism Outdoors, will take place at Experium Eco Park, a sprawling 160-acre venue.
Thousands of tomatoes are being prepped for the big day, setting the stage for epic tomato battles where people can dive into the fun, minus the hassle of international flights and visas.
Unlike typical tomato-throwing festivals that often face backlash for food wastage, Toma Terra has committed to an eco-friendly approach. After the playful chaos, every bit of tomato waste will be collected and turned into organic compost.
Tickets for Toma Terra start at Rs 499 and go up to Rs 3,499, depending on the access level and perks chosen. Whether you're looking for general admission or premium experiences, options are available to suit every budget.
La Tomatina is a vibrant and energetic festival held annually in Buñol, Spain, where participants engage in an epic tomato fight. Every year, over 20,000 people gather for the event, hurling around 120 tonnes of ripe tomatoes at each other for a thrilling one-hour spectacle.
In the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, which stars Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol Hrithik Roshan Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, the actors visited Buñol, Spain, to participate in the La Tomatina festival. To recreate the actual La Tomatina festival scene, the town of Buñol was shut down, and 16 tons of tomatoes were flown in from Portugal for the shoot.
