Kalyan: The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has finalised the ward structure for the upcoming 2025 municipal elections after considering suggestions and objections raised during the draft stage.

The government has approved changes to the scope and delimitation of four wards, clearing the way for the reservation draw process. However, the 27 Village Struggle Committee’s demand to exclude 27 villages from the municipality remains unanswered.

The State Election Commission reviewed the objections and made necessary changes to the ward boundaries. Of the 214 objections related to ward boundaries, four were addressed, while 46 others, mainly concerning reservation issues, were not linked to the ward structure.

The final ward structure will be made available on KDMC’s website, with maps and details at municipal headquarters. Despite the approval, the issue of excluding 27 villages remains unresolved.

The election will be held through a four-member panel system to elect 122 members. The draft ward structure, announced in August, consists of 29 four-member panels and two three-member panels.

A total of 264 suggestions and objections were raised, primarily concerning ward boundaries and the inclusion of certain buildings in adjacent wards.
