Kalyan News: MSEDCL urges caution around electrical systems during monsoon

top-news

Kalyan: With heavy rain, storms, and the risk of flooding, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has appealed to citizens to remain alert around electrical infrastructure to prevent accidents.

MSEDCL has activated 24/7 control rooms across Kalyan division.

In areas affected by rain or flooding, transformers may be temporarily shut down as a safety measure.

Power lines, poles, feeder pillars, transformers, fuse boxes, and even damp home appliances and agricultural switches pose risks during the rainy season.

Residents should ensure household switches and devices are dry, check for proper earthing, and use specified aluminum alloy fuse wires instead of copper. Always turn off power-operated devices from the switchboard. In rural areas, animals should not be tied to electric poles, and no clothes should be hung on wires.

For support, MSEDCL’s toll-free helplines 1800-212-3435 and 1800-233-3435 are open 24/7. Complaints can also be submitted via their mobile app or website www.mahadiscom.in.
