Kalyan: KDMC Commissioner Abhinav Goyal expressed strong displeasure over unsatisfactory drain cleaning in Kalyan East’s 5/D ward during a recent review.

He ordered the contractor to increase manpower, use mechanical methods, and improve work procedures. Goyal warned of blacklisting and strict legal action under various municipal and labour laws if negligence continues. Piles of roadside waste were also flagged for immediate removal.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Atul Patil instructed officials to complete drain cleaning across Kalyan West’s 3/C ward by May 15.

The civic body aims to finish all desilting work citywide before the monsoon. Goyal confirmed that similar inspections would be carried out in other wards to ensure quality and timely completion.
