Residents of Vashi are once again voicing their discontent as illegal banners have resurfaced in Sector 17. These banners line the route from the Vashi flyover to the Vishnudas Bhave Natyagruha. aggravating citizens who recall the recent removal of similar banners that had adorned footpaths and light poles during Ganeshotsav festivities.

The reappearance of these unsightly banners has left the common man in Vashi irked. On Friday, October 6th, the National Fisheries convention, themed 'Neela Kranti,' took place, and banners advertising this conference have stirred residents' frustration.

Anish Baviskar, a resident of Sector 17, Vashi, expressed his concern, saying, "We hold no grudge against Sahakar Bharti - Fisheries Cell for organizing an event that promotes fishing. However, the organizers must take responsibility for the banners that have sprung up from signal intersections to light poles. These banners mar the city's aesthetics and are an eyesore. Moreover, they serve as distractions to motorists. I implore the NMMC authorities to deploy a team to promptly remove these banners."

Echoing similar sentiments, Prachi Jain, another resident of Vashi, remarked, "These unsightly banners resurface whenever there's a political or significant event. Considerable funds are spent on these banners, only for the municipal corporation to allocate manpower to remove them. Instead of erecting banners that occupy public spaces, why not opt for newspaper advertisements? We need a more profound solution to address this issue."
