In accordance with the directives issued by the Election Commission of India, provisions for Phased Voting and Home Voting have been extended to eligible voters, including those above 85 years of age and individuals with disabilities or those affected by COVID-19, if they opt for it. To facilitate this, postal voting application forms (Form 12D) were made available, and upon receipt of applications, the voting schedule for eligible voters has been finalized across various assembly constituencies.

The breakdown of house voting arrangements is as follows:

Shahapur: On May 9 and 14, 135 disabled voters and 62 voters above 85 years will cast their votes.

Bhiwandi: On May 10 and 14, 136 disabled voters and 14 above 85 years will participate in home voting.

In total, 242 voters above 85 years and 29 disabled voters are enlisted for house voting across the entire Lok Sabha constituency. Special polling stations will be set up at their residences, with appointed polling station presidents and officers overseeing the process. Candidates or their representatives have been issued attendance letters to witness the polling process first hand.

To execute this massive logistical operation, 32 teams have been formed across different regions, comprising 40 Micro Inspectors allocated by the Central Election Commission. The entire house voting procedure will be recorded on video for transparency.

Election Returning Officer Sanjay Jadhav has urged all staff involved in home voting to carry their identity cards and extend full cooperation. The house polling process is scheduled to take place from May 9 to 15.
