A remarkable tribute to history and heritage is underway in Airoli Sector 10 A, as the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is set to unveil a full-length statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Sector 10 A, Airoli. This monumental project, will cost the municipal corporation Rs.11 crores, and as per the officials the tender process has been initiated. Once installed, it will mark the third statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the city.

Amidst Navi Mumbai's global recognition as a modern metropolis, local representatives emphasized the significance of intertwining historical legacies with the city's landscape. The demand for a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Airoli gained traction, reflecting the desire to impart a deeper understanding of history to future generations. The proposed installation will find its place on plot number 20, incorporating an updated art gallery on the ground floor, with the grand standing statue adorning the garden.

Presently, Navi Mumbai boasts a statue of Shivaji Maharaj in Vashi, while the final stages of installing a majestic statue in Nerul Sector 1 is underway.

Enthusiastic admirers of Shivaji Maharaj have expressed contentment over the decision to install the statue in Airoli. “The project, costing Rs.11 crores, has entered the tendering phase”, said Deputy Engineer Santosh Shiktode. Upon completion of the tender process, the actual construction work will commence, adding another monumental tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Navi Mumbai.
