To focus on India’s role in Leadership and Governance in Higher Education

D. Y. Patil (Deemed to be University), Navi Mumbai will host the two day Association of Indian Universities (AIU) West Zone Vice Chancellor’s Meet  on 20 and 21^st December, 2024 at its sprawling Centre of Excellence premises based at Nerul.

Based on the main theme "Envisioning Future Higher Education: The Pivotal Role of India" for its 99th AIU Annual General Body Meet and National Conference of Vice Chancellors scheduled to be held tentatively during March-April, 2025, the West Zone meet to be held in the 21^st century city will deliberate on the sub theme ‘ Leadership and Governance in Higher Education’ and will feature distinguished academic leaders, policymakers and educators from across the region.

The same comes in the backdrop of India being poised to play a transformative role in the future of higher education by leveraging its burgeoning youth demographic, expanding digital infrastructure, and emphasis on innovation. Further India’s  unique blend of tradition and modernity offers a dynamic environment for fostering academic excellence and addressing emerging global challenges, making a big case for it being an essential contributor to the future of higher education.

The conference will feature dynamic panel discussions and deliberations on the following sub- themes:

Stakeholder Engagement: Balancing Expectations for Sustainable Growth ; Future Ready Campuses for Next Generation Learning: Infrastructure, Training & Technology; Role of Technology in Teaching, Learning, Assessment & Healthcare;  Al in Academia: Revolutionizing Research, Learning, and Governance; Autonomy & Accountability in Higher Education Institutions (HELs); Hybrid Learning Models in Education; Digital Innovation Technology in Rehabilitation; A Multidisciplinary Approach in Ayurveda & Pharmaceutical Research: A Vision for India at 2047 among others.

The West Zone Vice Chancellors' Meet is one of AIU's flagship events, offering a vital forum for exchanging ideas, setting policy directions, and inspiring transformative change in Indian higher education which is being hosted at the iconic Centre Of Excellence (COE)at the DY Patil Deemed to be University, Navi Mumbai. ”

Dr. Vandana Mishra Chaturvedi, VC, D. Y. Dr. Nitin Sippy , Registrar - D Y Patil University Navi Mumbai added, “ The two day AIU West Zone Vice Chancellor’s Meet will be held under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Vinay Kumar Pathak, President, AIU & Vice-Chancellor, CSJM University, Kanpur and Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, AIU,  will be inaugurated by His Excellency  Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, Hon'ble Governor of Rajasthan with Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE as the Guest of Honour in presence of the Chief Patrons Dr. Vijay D Patil (Hon. Chancellor & President) and Shivani Vijay Patil (Hon. Pro-Chancellor & Vice-President) of DY Patil Deemed to be University, Navi Mumbai”.
