Ram Karan Yadav, General Manager, Central Railway administered the Voter’s Pledge to the officers and staff at its Headquarters at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai on Thursday 25th January, 2024 on the occasion of National Voters’ Day.

Observed on the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (ECI) which came into existence in 1950, the same encourages every citizen, in particular the young voters to take part in the electoral process and focuses on the Right to vote as the basic right in a democratic setup

The pledge to uphold the democratic traditions of the country and to vote in every election fearlessly without being influenced by religion, race, caste, community, language or any other inducement was taken by all.

As may be recalled the NVD theme for the year 2024 is  ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure’ and is celebrated at the national, state, district, constituency and polling booth levels too.
