In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha General Election in Raigad district, the district administration, under the guidance of the Election Commission of India, is diligently working to ensure the implementation of election guidelines. Collector and District Election Officer, Kishan Javale, has issued instructions for the thorough inspection of all polling stations in the district to ensure the provision of basic facilities.

Raigad district comprises two Lok Sabha constituencies, namely 32 - Raigad and 33 - Maval. Collector Javale conducted a comprehensive review of the readiness of assistant election decision officers and related systems during a meeting held at the Collector's office. The meeting was attended by Resident Sub-Collector Sandesh Shirke and Deputy District Election Officer Sneha Ubale.

Emphasizing the importance of providing essential amenities, Collector Javale stressed that it is the responsibility of the concerned departments to ensure basic facilities at all polling stations. Officers have been directed to personally visit polling stations to verify the availability of basic amenities and to carry out necessary repairs as required. This includes arrangements for lighting, drinking water, toilets, ramps, and other necessary facilities.

Collector instructed officials to adhere to the guidelines issued by the commission and ensure the provision of all necessary facilities like special provisions at selected polling stations for webcasting, and arrangements for wheelchairs and volunteers for voters with special abilities.

In addition, Collector Javale highlighted the importance of constructing ideal polling stations equipped with necessary amenities to prevent inconvenience to voters. He stressed the need for at least 50 percent of polling stations to have adequate arrangements for webcasting, CCTV, or videography. Furthermore, arrangements should be made to ensure easy access for voters, including shade arrangements, queue management, and the provision of first aid facilities with the appointment of health staff officers.
