Thane: Long-pending demand of ward number 4 residents would soon be addressed, as authorities are considering to reopen the closed U-turn near Tattvagyan University on Ghodbunder Road or providing an alternative turning point. The move comes after repeated requests from residents of the Tulshidham and Hiranandani Meadows areas who have been facing inconvenience due to the closure.
The matter was actively taken up by Ward No. 4 corporator Sneha Ramesh Ambre, who raised the issue with the concerned authorities. “At present, commuters traveling towards Thane, Mumbai, and Nashik have to drive nearly 2–3 kilometers through Manpada Bridge or Majiwada to take a turn. This leads to traffic congestion,” said Ambre
To address the problem, a detailed meeting was held with officials from Public Works Department, Municipal Corporation officers, local residents, and community representatives. A large number of citizens attended the discussion and expressed their concerns about the traffic situation and the need for a quicker solution.
During the ward inspection, authorities also reviewed several civic complaints related to illegal parking, traffic congestion, and the presence of unauthorized street vendors along busy roads. Officials informed residents that action will soon be taken to remove encroachments and illegal parking along the stretch from Netaji Subhashchandra Bose Chowk to Tikuji Ni Wadi Road.
