In a remarkable display of community team spirit, residents of Thane's Kolshet area joined hands to support a comprehensive cleanliness campaign initiated by the Majiwada Manpada Ward Committee of the Thane Municipal Corporation.

Led by Commissioner Saurabh Rao, the initiative, held on April 27, focused on enhancing the upkeep of the Kolshet Mahavisarjan Ghat, a sacred site for rituals. Commissioner Rao, alongside Additional Commissioner 1 Sandeep Malvi, Deputy Commissioners G.G. Godepure and Tushar Pawar, and Assistant Commissioner Pritam Patil, led the effort, emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness in the area.

During the drive, Commissioner Rao personally oversaw the cleaning of the Kolshet area, promptly addressing any debris found along the creek. He also stressed the significance of properly disposing of Nirmalya in designated Kalash, highlighting the detrimental effects of littering on the area's aesthetics and hygiene.

In addition to the cleanliness drive, Commissioner Rao inspected the park developed on the shores of Kolshet Creek, commending the thoughtful planning evident in its design. He applauded the inclusion of amenities such as children's play equipment and an open gymnasium, catering to the recreational needs of the community.

Acknowledging the efforts of dedicated sanitation workers, Commissioner Rao honoured Vimal Dattatray Kedare from the Majiwada Attendance Shed with a certificate of appreciation for her consistent hard work.

Furthermore, Commissioner Rao directed officials to address encroachments around the biogas project in the area promptly. He also instructed the park department to undertake tree plantation initiatives during the upcoming monsoon season, further enhancing the greenery of the locality.

The commissioner's inspection extended beyond the Mahavisarjan Ghat, encompassing various areas of Kolshet, including upper and lower villages, Dhokali Naka, and Kapurbavdi, reaffirming a commitment to holistic community welfare.
