Bhiwandi News: Counterfeit notes with face value of Rs 45.5L seized

Bhiwandi: Bhiwandi Crime Branch has busted a major counterfeit currency racket and arrested six persons involved in production and circulation of counterfeit notes. Indian counterfeit currency with face value of Rs 45.5 lakh
Acting on a tip-off that certain individuals were planning to exchange counterfeit notes near Café Makdumiya in Avchatpada, police laid a trap and apprehended Suraj Tanaji Shende, Bharat Valku Sase, and Swapnil Jagdish. The trio were arrested on May 3 and 60 bundles of fake Rs 500 notes amounting to Rs 30 lakh was recovered.
Further investigations led to the arrest Ramdas Dalvi, Vijay Karnekar alias Vicky, and Shekhar Batin on May 5. Police seized key printing equipment including a laptop, printer, cutter, high-quality bond paper, and Rs 15.5 lakh worth of counterfeit currency. The group was reportedly operating out of a location in Sawad Naka, Bhiwandi.
The total seizure in this case now stands at Rs 45.5 lakh, Sr. PI Janardan Sonawane said..
