BEST launches new air-conditioned bus service on the Coastal Road

This is the first ever BEST AC bus service to run on the Coastal Road
Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) initiative is set to enhance commuter convenience with the launch of a new air-conditioned bus route, No. A-78. This new service will operate between NCPA (Nariman Point) and Byculla Station (W), providing a comfortable and efficient travel option for Mumbai residents.
This bus service commenced its operations on Friday, July 12. The route covers key locations, including Marine Drive, the ‘Swarajya Rakshak Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Sagari Kinara Marg’ also known as Coastal Road, Breach Candy Hospital, Haji Ali, and Mahalaxmi Station.
This strategic route aims to ease the daily commute for passengers, offering stops at prominent landmarks and facilitating smoother travel across these bustling areas.
The detailed route for bus No. A-78 includes major stops at Hotel Trident, Netaji Subhash Marg, Marine Drive, Parsi General Hospital Junction, Vatsalabai Desai Chowk (Haji Ali), Mahalaxmi Race Course, Mahalaxmi Railway Station, and Saat Rasta. By covering these significant points, BEST intends to provide a reliable and convenient service for both daily commuters and occasional travellers.
The schedule for the new bus route is designed to accommodate a wide range of passengers. The first bus departs from NCPA (Nariman Point) at 8:50 a.m. and from Byculla Station (W) at 8:00 a.m. The last bus leaves NCPA at 9:00 p.m. and Byculla Station at 8:50 p.m. This comprehensive schedule ensures that passengers have ample opportunities to use the service throughout the day.
Affordability is a key feature of the new route, with fares ranging from a minimum of Rs. 6 to a maximum of Rs. 19. This pricing structure is intended to make air-conditioned travel accessible to a broader section of the population, promoting comfort without compromising on cost.
The new air-conditioned buses on route No. A-78 will operate throughout the week, ensuring consistent and reliable service for passengers. This continuous operation is part of BEST's commitment to providing uninterrupted and high-quality public transportation in Mumbai.
