Apollo Hospital launches 5G ambulance service for swift emergency response in Navi Mumbai

top-news

Marking World Emergency Day, Apollo Hospital in Belapur introduces a groundbreaking 5G ambulance service to cater to the urgent medical needs of Navi Mumbaikars. Through the dedicated Emergency Response System (ERS), residents can now access immediate assistance by dialling 1066, ensuring timely medical intervention during emergencies.

Recognizing the dire consequences of delayed medical treatment leading to fatalities, Apollo Hospital aims to mitigate such risks by deploying state-of-the-art GPRS-enabled 5G ambulances. These ambulances, activated on Monday, promise swift response times, particularly crucial during the critical "golden hour" following accidents or medical emergencies.

Equipped with essential critical care equipment and staffed with trained paramedics, the 5G ambulances enable continuous monitoring of patients' vital signs enroute to the hospital. Through a high-speed, low-latency 5G network, doctors at the hospital's command centre can maintain real-time communication with ambulance staff via in-camera connectivity, facilitating prompt medical assistance and pre-hospital interventions.

Dr. Nitin Jagasia, Regional Emergency Director at Apollo Hospital, underscores the potential lifesaving impact of the 5G ambulance service. Immediate medical attention during emergencies, especially within the golden hour, significantly enhances the chances of patient survival, underscoring the vital role of swift response and timely interventions.
