Mumbai: The Mumbai district unit of the Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (ANIS) organised a two-day residential reflection meeting on July 25 and 26 at Janata Kendra, Tardeo, to review its work and strengthen the rationalist movement.

Around 40 activists from various branches across Mumbai district participated in the meeting, which focused on evaluating the organisation's activities over recent years and preparing a roadmap for future initiatives.

During the ‘Meri Baat’ session, activists shared their expectations from the organisation, personal experiences and ideas for future contributions. A subsequent session on ‘Mutual Trust and Organisational Unity’ saw members recount the support and encouragement they received from the organisation during difficult periods.

Group discussions were held to assess the organisation's strengths, limitations, challenges, risks and opportunities for expanding its activities. An action plan for future programmes was finalised based on participants' suggestions.

State General Secretary Aarti Naik addressed the gathering on ‘Devadharma and Ethics’, clarifying that Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti is not an organisation promoting atheism but one that advocates rational thinking and follows an agnostic approach. In a session on ‘Work Culture’, she highlighted the values and working methods of social reformers Dr Narendra Dabholkar, Avinash Patil, Madhav Bawge and Sanjay Bansode.

The concluding session discussed challenges faced by various branches, activists’ experiences and organisational planning for the coming year.

The meeting was organised through the efforts of State Principal Secretary Vijay Parab, Thaksen Gorane, State Member Nandkishore Talashilkar, Aarti Naik, and district office bearers Yash Suryavanshi, Tushar Shinde, Praveen Jawale and Sandesh Balgude.
