Angry Airoli residents block highway following frequent power outages

Frustration has reached boiling point for Airoli residents who have been enduring continuous power outages amidst scorching temperatures. The situation escalated on Tuesday night when enraged residents blocked the Mulund Rabale highway in protest.

The timing couldn't be worse, as the weather department issued a heatwave warning with temperatures soaring above 42 degrees Celsius. The combination of relentless heat and power cuts has pushed citizens to their breaking point.

Frustrated by the lack of accountability and communication from authorities, residents took matters into their own hands, staging a blockade on the busy highway. However, police intervention eventually led to the dispersal of the protest.

With sectors 9, 13, and 19 bearing the brunt of power disruptions, residents have been left in the dark, both figuratively and literally. Despite repeated complaints, officials from MSEDCL have failed to provide a satisfactory response, aggravating the residents' plight.

Meanwhile, Nilesh Bankhile, Deputy City President of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), issued a stern warning, vowing to escalate protests against MSEDCL until the power situation improves.
