Navi Mumbai: In a significant move to enhance employability among Maharashtra's youth, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's 'Chief Minister Youth Work Training Scheme' has begun to show its impact. This scheme, spearheaded by the Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Department, aims to create a skilled workforce by providing practical work training and internships across various industries.
Under the scheme, youth aged 18 to 35 years are eligible for a 6-month internship with a stipend. The program provides Rs.6,000 per month for 12th pass candidates, Rs.8,000 for ITI and Diploma holders, and Rs.10,000 for graduates and postgraduates. The goal is to make the youth of Maharashtra more employable by offering hands-on experience in government, semi-government offices, corporations, industries, and startups.
A recent camp at the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) headquarters saw a notable response, with 125 applications received on August 14. Out of these, 110 candidates were selected for the internship. On August 15, as part of the Independence Day celebrations, 10 representatives were chosen to participate in the 'Gharoghari Tiranga' cultural program, marking a special highlight of their training.
The selection process was overseen by Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar, City Engineer Shirish Aardwad, and Deputy Commissioner Sharad Pawar. These officials emphasized the importance of this initiative in providing practical training and career opportunities to the youth.
Another camp is scheduled for August 20, 2024, at 10 AM at the NMMC Headquarters in CBD Belapur. Interested candidates are advised to bring their full details and documents, including name, address, mobile number, email, educational qualifications, and bank details. Priority will be given to those who arrive first and comply with the government's appointment criteria as per the decision dated July 9, 2024.
The officials have urged all eligible youth to attend this upcoming camp to benefit from the Chief Minister's Youth Work Training Scheme and take a step towards a brighter future.
