Nalasopara: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Nalasopara took action against three Bangladeshi nationals found residing illegally in the jurisdiction of Achole Police Station. The operation was conducted on Thursday based on credible information received by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit.

According to officials, the team received a tip-off about the presence of Bangladeshi nationals living without proper documentation in the Galanagar area of Nalasopara East. Acting on this information, a police team, accompanied by panch witnesses and an interpreter, set a trap at the location.

“Upon investigation, we detained three men identified as Abu Gafar Ali Mandal (29), Kabir Riyazuddin Sheikh (60), and Milon Shahnawaz Mandal (37). All three were found residing at Room No. 403, Om Sai Apartment, near R.C. Maruti High School and Junior College, Pragati Nagar, Nalasopara East. Their original nationality was confirmed as Bangladeshi,” said Senior Police Inspector Saurbhi Pawar of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Nalasopara.

Inspector Pawar further explained that the detained individuals were questioned through an interpreter, during which they admitted to being Bangladeshi nationals residing in India without valid documents.

“Based on their confession, a detailed panchanama (official record) was prepared, and they were taken into custody. A formal complaint was registered against them under Section 3(a), 6(a) of the Indian Passport Act, 1950, and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946,” Pawar added.

The Achole Police have officially registered the case, and further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of their illegal entry and stay in the country.
