In a heartening initiative to support visually impaired children, three Braille books were published at the Yash Sneha Trust-run Sneh Jyoti Residential Andha Vidyalaya in Gharadi, Mandangad, District Ratnagiri, on March 17th. The ceremony, graced by notable personalities including Navi Mumbai Municipal Public Relations Officer and Poet-Narrator Mahendra Konde, marked a significant step in providing accessible literature to those with visual impairments.

Two of the books, authored by Deputy Editor of 'Aapla Nave Shahar' Rajendra Gharat, namely "Mase Ase Ni Tase" and "Pure Marathi," along with "Dhamal Kamal" by Navi Mumbai Municipal Secretary Chitra Baviskar, were unveiled during the event. The event was attended by the School's principal Mrs. Pratibha Pranav Sengupta and Mrs. Ashwini Gharat, among others.

Mahendra Konde, in his address, highlighted the unique abilities of the students at Sneh Jyoti Residential Blind Vidyalaya, emphasizing their remarkable perception despite their visual impairment. He expressed admiration for their resilience and broad perspective, noting their ability to recognize individuals solely by their voices.

Rajendra Gharat, expressing his delight at the publication of two more Braille books, emphasised the importance of extending support to institutions in remote areas like Gharadi. He encouraged others to channel celebrations towards meaningful engagements, such as spending time with children in such institutions, rather than extravagant events.

Mrs. Chitra Baviskar echoed similar sentiments, expressing her hope for continued support in converting more books into Braille script to enhance accessibility for visually impaired individuals. She commended the efforts of the teachers and non-teaching staff of Sneh Jyoti School for their dedication to nurturing the children's talents alongside their education.

The event also featured performances by the visually impaired children, who showcased their musical talents under the guidance of their music teacher Vyaghrambare. Additionally, essential supplies such as food, sanitary napkins for girls, and sarees for staff members were distributed, further emphasizing the holistic support provided by the institution.
