Akif Reshamwala, an MBBS student hailing from Mumbai, has clinched the gold medal from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. Akif, a student at Rajiv Gandhi Medical College under the Thane Municipal Corporation, has secured the prestigious accolade as the state-level topper in General Medicine.

This outstanding feat marks Akif as the first-ever recipient of the gold medal in General Medicine at the state level. His exceptional academic prowess is further evidenced by his rank 1 position within Rajiv Gandhi Medical College.

Akif's journey to success commenced early in his college years, with consecutive gold medal wins at the college level during his first and second years. Furthermore, he demonstrated his academic mettle by securing the fifth position state wide in his first year of MBBS studies. Throughout his four-year tenure, Akif has consistently maintained top academic performance, culminating in an impressive 75.78 percent score in his fourth year.

Expressing his elation at the achievement, Akif attributed his success to relentless hard work and invaluable guidance from the faculty at Rajiv Gandhi Medical College and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital. He emphasized the significance of regular studies and hands-on experience gained from working alongside senior doctors, which significantly contributed to his academic prowess.

Akif's exceptional dedication extends beyond academics, as evidenced by his roles as Academic Secretary and Head of Research for the Student Council during the 2021-22 academic year. Additionally, his active participation in various quiz competitions highlights his multifaceted talents and commitment to excellence.
