Mira-Bhayandar: The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has announced special discounts on property tax payments for the financial year, aiming to encourage timely payments and promote environmentally friendly practices among residents.

Citizens who pay their entire property tax dues by June 30, 2025, will receive a 5 per cent discount. Those who pay by July 31, 2025, will receive a 3 per cent discount. Additionally, homeowners who install rainwater harvesting systems or solar water heating systems will be eligible for an additional 5 per cent concession on their property tax bills.

Municipal Commissioner and administrator Radhabinod Sharma urged citizens to take advantage of these offers. “This is a golden opportunity for our citizens to not only save money but also contribute to the city’s sustainable development goals,” he said.

“Those who install rainwater harvesting or solar systems will be rewarded with tax benefits. We want to promote environmental responsibility alongside civic responsibility,” added Sharma.

The MBMC has also warned that payments made after July 31, 2025, will attract a 2 per cent monthly interest as per regulations.

Sharma emphasized the various platforms to pay property taxes. “We have made the payment process seamless through the ‘My MBMC’ mobile app, available on Play Store and App Store. Citizens can also pay via our official website or by cheque addressed to MBMC,” he noted.
