Vashi: NMMC disconnected the water supply, electricity and sewer lines for three buildings declared as C1 category (extremely dangerous, unfit for habitation, and requiring immediate evacuation). The buildings are located in the C-ward area of Vashi.

The drive, under the supervision of assistant commissioner Sukhdev Yedve, was carried out as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of lives.

The three buildings affected are Jai Maharashtra Society, JN-2 Type Apartment Owners Association, and Little Flower Co-op Housing Society Ltd., JN-4 Type (Building No. 9), both in sector 9, Vashi. The action was also initiated against C1 and C2 type buildings, Nos. 1 to 12, sector 2.

With the monsoon now underway, residents of other dangerous buildings in the NMMC jurisdiction are being urged to vacate such premises immediately. The municipal corporation has warned that similar stringent actions will be intensified in the coming days.
