Offering time-efficient routes

In a move aimed at enhancing connectivity and reducing travel time, the State Transport (ST) Corporation has initiated the operation of its renowned "Shivneri" buses from the newly inaugurated "Atal Setu sealink" connecting Sewri and Nhava Sheva. The service will commence on an experimental basis from February 20, introducing two routes for commuters.

The Shivneri buses will operate on two key routes, departing from Pune Station at 6:30 am and Swargate at 7:00 am. These buses will follow a route via Panvel Nhava Sheva and Sewri, reaching Mantralaya/Dadar directly. The return journey from Mantralaya and Dadar is scheduled at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, respectively. This strategic routing is expected to save commuters approximately one hour of travel time, particularly during peak hours.

An official from the Transport wing informed that there will be no change in the existing fare rates for these newly introduced Shivneri bus routes.

The ST Corporation encourages passengers to take advantage of these time-efficient bus trips, providing a convenient and swift mode of transportation between Pune and Mumbai.

Passengers interested in utilizing these services can make advance reservations through the official MSRTC mobile reservation app and the www.msrtc.gov.in website. “The ST Corporation hopes that these new routes will not only streamline travel for commuters but also contribute to the overall efficiency and accessibility of public transportation in the region”, said the official.
