Rapper Emiway Bantai receives extortion demand, death threat

Belapur: Rapper Emiway Bantai has received death threats and extortion demand of Rs one crore. NRI police have registered a case against an unidentified person for issuing the death threat and for trying to extort money from the rapper.

The death threat and extortion demand come in the wake of Bantai releasing his latest song titled Tribute to Sidhu Moosewala on May 24. Emiway Bantai, whose real name is Mohammad Bilal Shaikh, resides in Seawoods.

According to police the threat was received on May 25 at around 8:15 am on the mobile phone of Bantai Music Company.

The sender claimed to be gangster Goldy Brar and warned that the singer had only 24 hours to comply. The message mentioned the names of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi Group, Lawn Group, and Rohit Godara.

The manager of Bantai Music Company filed a complaint with the NRI police. Based on the complaint, the police have registered an FIR against an unidentified person for issuing death threats and trying to extort money from the rapper.
