Panvel: On 28^th August, Wednesday, the main transformer supplying electricity to ONGC near Panvel exploded, leading to a widespread power outage that affected the entire Panvel city and New Panvel areas. The sudden disruption caused significant inconvenience to residents and businesses alike.

Upon receiving the information about the explosion, officials from the concerned department, along with the fire department, rushed to the scene. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, preventing further damage. However, the incident left a large portion of Panvel without electricity for six hours.

In response, the relevant authorities made every effort to restore power as swiftly as possible. After a six-hour wait, electricity was finally restored to the affected areas. Despite these efforts, the prolonged outage caused considerable difficulties for many, especially those reliant on continuous power for their daily activities.
