Navi Mumbai: The National Education Policy (NEP-2020) recognizes the pivotal role of Digital Technology as a catalyst for promoting inclusivity in education and emphasizes its importance to provide equitable access to high-quality education for every child.

The Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai Sunrise has launched ‘Gyan Deep - Sparking the Mind with Digital Technology’ — a unique initiative aimed at empowering children with intellectual disabilities through the use of advanced digital tools.

As part of the project, four Google TVs, along with accessories and latest educational software, were donated to the Badlapur-based Rainbow Foundation & Rehabilitation Centre. Rainbow supports 200 special needs children from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

“These digital resources will be used to enhance learning, communication and engagement among the enrolled children with intellectual disabilities,” Rtn Dinesh Mehta, district governor, said while inaugurating project Gyan Deep.

District First Lady Rtn Jyoti Mehta, Sanjay Panigrahi, president, Rotary Club Navi Mumbai Sunrise, were among those who attended the event.

Sandeep K Gupta, founder, Rainbow Foundation, expressed his appreciation, saying, “It will play a pivotal role in transforming the educational journey of these children, fostering improved communication, engagement, and skill development.”
