After Dombivli, water issues flare up in Kalyan
Residents of Dombivli's Aajdepada, Ajde Gaon, and Dombivli Gymkhana areas, grappling with water scarcity, staged a sit-in protest at the MIDC department office in Dombivli. Later on, residents from Antam also protested at the development office.
Facing similar water shortages as Dombivli, citizens of Kalyan voiced their grievances to Shiv Sena. Residents from Atali, Vadvali, Mohane, and Ambivali areas near Kalyan took to the streets in a march led by Shiv Sena at the ‘A’ Ward office of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) on Tuesday, July 9th.
Led by Shiv Sena, citizens marched to KDMC’s ‘A’ Ward office carrying buckets and banners. Shiv Sena Kalyan West City chief Ravi Patil also participated in the protest.
Upon reaching the office, employees attempted to halt the march, but Patil intervened and cleared the way.
Addressing the gathering, Kalyan West City Chief, Ravi Patil said, “There has been a water problem in Atali, Vadvali, Mohane, and Ambivali areas for the past year. Today, Deputy City Chief Duryodhan Patil, former corporator Harshali Thavil, department head Raman Tare, Ramesh Patil, and branch chief Shiv Sainik informed me about the water issues. Eight days ago, I discussed this with the commissioner and highlighted the water problem in these areas.”
Since the water problem persisted, we had to march to the office. Following discussions with officials, assurances were given to resolve the water problem. Shiv Sena always stands up for the people.
Ashok Ghode, KDMC’s Executive Engineer said, “In reality, the pump houses and pumps in this area are old, and new pumps will be installed this week. The municipal administration will take necessary action and address the concerns of those with complaints. We are committed to resolving the water problems in Atali, Vadvali, Mohane, and Ambivali within two days. By replacing all four pumps, this issue will be resolved.”
