Police conducts intensive combing operation in Turbhe division

In a proactive measure ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate conducted a comprehensive combing operation on Friday night across several police stations in the Turbhe Division. The operation targeted individuals involved in various illicit activities, including drug and alcohol consumption, possession of weapons, public smoking, and traffic violations.

Under the purview of the operation, a total of 390 individuals were subjected to enforcement actions. These included crackdowns on 49 cases of prohibition violations, 13 apprehensions related to drug usage, 2 illegal weapon seizures, 37 instances of enforcement under KOFTA (Keep Off the Footpath Act), and 2 cases of driving under the influence.

Additionally, 21 individuals were penalized for violations under Section 285 (reckless driving), 11 for violations under Section 283 (dangerous driving), and 255 under the Motor Vehicle Act.

The operation, spanning Turbhe, CBD, NRI, Nerul, and Sanpada police stations, involved the deployment of 30 police officers and 139 enforcers. These personnel established strategic blockades and executed targeted combing operations at various locations within the jurisdiction.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Rahul Gaikwad of Turbhe Division personally oversaw the operation, providing crucial guidance to the law enforcement teams. The initiative received guidance and support from senior officials, including Commissioner of Police Milind Bharambe, Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Yenpure, Upper Commissioner of Police Deepak Sakore, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Circle-1 Pankaj Dahane
