Panvel: In a bid to address the rising number of complaints from residents concerning the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken a significant administrative step by establishing a dedicated 'Coordination Cell'.
Mangesh Chitale, civic commissioner, said that residents frequently face challenges linked to civic services and development schemes, including implementation delays, infrastructure deficiencies, and issues surrounding permissions and approvals.
Acknowledging the importance of responding promptly to these concerns, Chitale added, “The newly formed Coordination Cell has been tasked with streamlining communication between citizens and municipal authorities. The cell will act swiftly on grievances and coordinate closely with relevant departments to deliver resolutions without delay.”
To manage the functioning of the cell effectively, six officers from various departments have been appointed. They are responsible for monitoring complaints received through the cell, ensuring they are followed up appropriately, and coordinating with relevant officials to achieve speedy redressal. The administration has issued clear instructions to all associated staff to treat complaints with urgency and diligence, reinforcing its commitment to responsive governance.
He further emphasised that this move will not only enhance administrative efficiency but also foster greater transparency and accountability in dealings between the public and the municipality. He expressed confidence that the initiative would significantly improve the convenience of citizens and strengthen the relationship between the administration and the community.
