PMC conducts dengue prevention training

Panvel: On the occasion of National Dengue Day, Panvel Municipal Corporation organized a focused training session for its sanitation workers to strengthen dengue prevention efforts.
The training emphasized the frontline role sanitation workers play in dengue control and equipped them with the necessary knowledge and tools to carry out their duties more effectively.
During the session, sanitation staff were trained on how to identify and eliminate mosquito breeding spots. Through detailed presentations, they were guided on measures to ensure such spots do not re-emerge.
The training also covered essential field techniques including fumigation, insecticide spraying, and sanitation practices at construction sites. Additionally, practical instructions on how to conduct door-to-door surveys and proper spraying methods were shared.
The initiative was carried out as per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vaibhav Vidhate, with Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anand Gosavi heading the training. Key municipal officials including Epidemic Medical Officer Dr. Akash Thasal, Solid Waste and Sanitation Head Anil Kokre, Medical Officers, Sanitation Inspector Sanjay Jadhav, and Health Supervisor Pramod Giri were also present.
"This proactive measure is part of PMC’s broader public health strategy to curb the spread of dengue in the city," said an official.
