Navi Mumbai: The Sanpada Police have achieved a major breakthrough in the tragic hit-and-run case that took place on Palm Beach Road on March 3. By carefully examining technical evidence and reviewing several CCTV recordings, investigators have identified two vehicles—a Skoda and a Maruti Brezza—that allegedly ran over a young motorcyclist, killing him and leaving a teenage girl critically injured.

The victim, 23-year-old Prashant Jamdade, a resident of Koparkhairane, was riding home at around 3:00 AM with his friend, Harman Kaur (17). While traveling along the curved stretch between Sarsole Junction and Moraj Circle, their motorcycle reportedly skidded, causing both riders to fall onto the road.

Investigators later reconstructed a disturbing timeline of events. Within approximately 30 seconds of the fall, two speeding cars traveling close behind the bike ran over the pair. The impact was extremely severe, resulting in Prashant’s death at the scene, while Harman suffered critical injuries.

Police Crack the Case

As there were no surveillance cameras at the exact location of the crash, the Sanpada Police, under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Amol Munde, carried out a detailed examination of CCTV footage from nearby points, including Sarsole Junction and Moraj Circle.

"After analyzing every vehicle that passed through that stretch during the estimated time of the accident, we identified the two cars involved," said PSI Munde.

Police later identified the drivers as Sagar Sanda (23), who was driving the Skoda, and Krishna Ravariya (20), who was driving the Maruti Brezza. Both men are residents of Ghansoli and were reportedly accompanied by several friends at the time of the incident. Authorities have seized the vehicles, and a charge sheet is currently being prepared for submission in court.

A Mother’s Desperate Plea

While Prashant lost his life in the accident, Harman Kaur remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital in Nerul. She is still unconscious, making it impossible for the police to record her statement.

Harman’s mother, the sole earning member of the family, is struggling to manage the rising medical expenses. In a desperate effort to save her daughter, the family has now turned to crowdfunding to raise funds for her treatment.
