Dombivli: Even as the Maharashtra government was involved in bringing back the mortal remains of the three Dombivli residents killed in April 22 terror attack, relatives and neighbours demanded justice for those who had paid the ultimate price in Kashmir.

The shock of the incident had left the situation emotionally charged. “Our demand from the government is clear. Terrorism must be eradicated. If they have killed 27 of us, we should kill 270 of them in retaliation,” Rajesh Prasad, a neighbour of Hemant Joshi (45), one of those slain, said.

The other victims were identified as Sanjay Lele (50) and Atul Mone (43). The trio along with their families were on a family vacation in Kashmir when the attack took place.

The three victims were all employed in the private sector and were known for their friendly and warm nature.

Mone (43) was a resident of Shriram Anchal Co-operative Housing Society, Thakurwadi. He is survived by his wife Anushka (35) and daughter Richa (18).

“After speaking with the control room, we were informed last evening at 8:30 pm that there had been a terrorist attack and that Atul had died in it. Our only request to the government is to take strict and immediate action against these terrorists, without delay. They should be eliminated directly,” said Rajshri Akul, a relative of Mone.

Joshi (45), a resident of Savitri Co-operative Housing Society, near Bagshala Ground, is survived by his wife Monika (45) and son Dhruv (16).

“Hemant was my close friend for many years. We used to play badminton together whenever we had free time. He was a kind-hearted person and would often speak to us about family matters. After seeing his photo on the news, I was deeply shocked," Rajesh Prasad, a neighbour of Joshi, said.

Lele (approx. 50), resident of Vijayshree Co-operative Housing Society, Subhash Road, Vishnunagar, worked as an accountant in a Thane-based company. Lele is survived by his wife Kavita (46) and son Harshal (20). Harshal also suffered serious injuries during the attack.

The community has called for the government to ensure the safety of tourists and to take all necessary measures to protect the remaining visitors in Kashmir.
