The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has intensified its efforts by sealing properties and disconnecting water supplies of defaulters. Notably, action has been taken against Haware Builder and Developers in Rainbow Business Park, Turbhe, for outstanding property tax amounting to Rs. 1,68,316, demonstrating the municipality's resolve to enforce tax compliance.

With a target of Rs. 800 crore property tax collection for the current financial year, the property tax department has issued notices to thousands of defaulters, warning of punitive measures such as property sealing and water supply disconnection in case of non-payment.

On Wednesday, officers and staff from the Property Tax Department conducted inspections at Rainbow Business Park, specifically targeting unit numbers 0214 and 0215. Due to non-payment of taxes, water connections for these properties were disconnected to recover arrears amounting to Rs. 84,158 each.

Sujata Dhole, Additional Commissioner of the Property Tax Department at Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, has urged all concerned parties to settle their tax dues promptly to avoid similar actions against other defaulters.
