Nerul: In a significant push towards sustainable mobility, Navi Mumbai’s first public-owned electric vehicle (EV) charging station was inaugurated near Seawoods Mall in the Jewels of Navi Mumbai area. The facility was launched by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) to mark the occasion of World Environment Day.

The EV charging station offers a range of modern amenities aimed at providing easy and safe access to EV users in the city. It features charging infrastructure for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers, including two CCS2 fast chargers of 30kW capacity. Citizens can also pre-book charging slots through a dedicated mobile app.

The station will be operational 24x7 for public use and includes safe and spacious parking, modern fire safety arrangements, a peaceful resting area with a children’s play zone, and affordable charging rates.

“This initiative is an important step towards promoting electric vehicle usage in Navi Mumbai and supporting the city’s transition to a greener, pollution-free future,” NMMC Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde said.

The station is strategically located in the heart of the city to offer maximum convenience to EV users. The public EV charging station is expected to boost electric vehicle adoption across Navi Mumbai and contribute to the city’s broader environmental goals.
