NMMC honours winners of painting competition' and fort building competition

Competitions were organised as part of 'Swachh Survekshan 2023'

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) honoured the winners of the painting and fort-building competition at its headquarters in a glittering event. These competitions were organized as part of Swachh Survekshan 2023 by the municipal corporation.

An official from the civic body informed that the competitions saw a huge response, with nearly 2.83 lakh children from classes 1st to 10th from more than 200 schools participating, making the event a huge success and also earning a place in the 'Best of India Records'.

The honouring ceremony was attended by the municipal commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, who personally awarded the winners and motivated them. Additionally, Additional Commissioner Sujata Dhole, Vijayakumar Mhasal, Deputy Commissioner of Administration Department Sharad Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of Solid Waste Management Department Dr. Babasaheb Rajale, Deputy Commissioner of Circle 1, Dr. Somnath Potre, Deputy Commissioner of Circle 2, Ram Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of Udayan Division Dilip Nerkar, Deputy Commissioner of Social Development Department Kisanrao Palande, Chief Auditor Jitendra Ingle, Deputy Commissioner of Stores Department Mangala Malve, Assistant Director Urban Planning Somnath Kekan, Municipal Secretary Chitra Baviskar, and other officials and employees were present in large numbers.

Vivek Vilas Sanga, a student of NMMC School No. 15, Shiravane, and Sai Netaji Shinde, a student of Vidya Bhavan High School, Nerul, were honoured with laptops as the best painters in all groups in the clean painting competition, which was conducted in three groups according to the class.

Similarly, Sanvi Suresh Sutar, a student of Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School, Vashi, won first place in the Class I to IV group, while Prasad Satam, a student of NMMC School No. 91, Diva, secured second place, and Tanush Narendra Major, a student of Terana Vidyalaya, Nerul, clinched the third prize.

In the Class V to VIII category, Prajakta Sarkar, a student of DAV Public School, Nerul, was the first runner-up, followed by Swarajya Swapan Jana, a student of Royal Christian School, Vashi, as the second runner-up, and Amey Nilakant Borse, a student of Podar International School, Nerul, as the third runner-up.

Ankit Amey Dhara, a student of Vidya Bhavan High School, Nerul, secured the first prize in the Class IX and X category, with Manthan Sham Bhoir, a student of Shiravane Vidyalaya, Nerul, and Tanishk Subhash Sule, a student of New Bombay City School, Nerul, clinching the second and third prizes, respectively.

During the event, NMMC chief Rajesh Narvekar praised the creative skills of the students.
