Navi Mumbai: NMMC Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde conducted an on-site inspection in Digha division on April 29, urging that ongoing works be expedited. He directed that all pre-monsoon works be completed by May 15.

During the inspection, Dr Shinde focused on the large drain behind Green World, instructing for its thorough cleaning. He also noted debris accumulation on the MIDC premises near the drain and directed cooperation with NMMC to control it.

Additionally, Dr Shinde emphasised cleaning and beautifying the neglected area near the railway tracks by Mukand Company, adjacent to Digha Gaon Railway Station. He instructed that the incomplete footpath along the Thane-Belapur Road be extended up to the Mukand Underpass to ensure smooth pedestrian access.

He also recommended relocating the pump to a nearby park corner and replacing the existing community toilet with an RCC toilet for better facilities.
