A significant milestone has been achieved in the long-pending process of transferring the plot for the construction of the administrative building of the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate. After 33 years of relentless efforts, the State Home Department has approved a fund of Rs. 10.57 crores for this crucial project.

The plot, originally allocated by CIDCO, 33 years ago at Sector-10, CBD Belapur has remained in limbo, hindering the development of the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate. However, with the recent approval of funds, the way has finally been cleared for the much-needed progress.

The initiative, spearheaded by Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe, highlights the dedication and perseverance of the Navi Mumbai Police in securing this vital asset for effective law enforcement in the region.

The funds, to be received from the Office of the Director General of Police to the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate in the next two days, mark a significant step forward in the transfer process. This development paves the way for the construction of a new building, heralding a new era of efficiency and functionality for the Commissionerate.

The long-awaited transfer has been the subject of continuous follow-up by the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate with the state's Director General of Police office. Commissioner Bharambe's proactive approach in pursuing this matter has finally yielded success, bringing an end to decades of bureaucratic delays.

In response to the demand from the Commissionerate, the State Home Department has allocated a substantial portion of the funds received from the Finance Department for the plot transfer. This allocation, signifies the government's commitment to facilitating the development of essential infrastructure for law enforcement.

While this achievement is celebrated, discussions are underway within the Navi Mumbai police circle regarding the payment required for the transfer, given that the plot is moving from one government system to another.

The plot's development has been eagerly awaited since 1990 when CIDCO allocated three plots for various police facilities, including a Police Club, Gymkhana, and headquarters. With the establishment of the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate in 1994, the need for dedicated infrastructure became increasingly apparent as the area and population of Navi Mumbai expanded.

Sanjay Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police-Headquarters, expressed gratitude for the State Home Department's sanction of funds, heralding a new chapter in the development of the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate.
