Khandeshwar: Police has arrested two history-sheeters involved in multiple motorcycle thefts and chain snatching incidents in Panvel, New Panvel, and Khandeshwar areas. The police have recovered stolen property worth Rs.2.35 lakh from them.

Over the past few days, incidents of motorcycle thefts and chain snatching had increased in the jurisdictions of Khandeshwar, New Panvel, and Panvel.

On the night of June 12, police set a trap and apprehended two suspects, identified as Akash Gade (23) and Suraj Devre (22), from the Panchsheel Nagar slum area in Panvel. Upon thorough interrogation, the duo confessed to their involvement in multiple vehicle thefts and chain snatching cases.

Based on their confession, the police seized three stolen motorcycles and two gold chains weighing 30 gm, collectively worth approximately Rs 2.35 lakh. Given the nature of their crimes, police suspect the two may be involved in several other similar cases and are conducting a detailed investigation.
