Vashi: Police bust a prostitution racket and six women were rescued and three people, including the owner and manager of the spa, were arrested.
The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell conducted a raid on Almo Spa located in Satra Plaza, Vashi, on May 17.
The police received information that prostitution activities were being carried out under the guise of a spa. Acting on this tip-off, a team led by senior police inspector Prithviraj Ghorpade, sent a decoy customer to confirm the illicit activities. The police raided the spa and found evidence of the women being forced into prostitution.
Police arrested the spa owner Abhijeet Naidu (29), manager Pranali Gavaskar (34), and Sanjay alias Rehmat Ilahi Shaikh (42). A case has been registered against them under the PITA Act at the APMC Police Station, and the court has remanded them to police custody until May 21.
