Navi Mumbai News: NMMC announces 24-hour water cut on May 14-15; check timings and details

Belapur: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced a 24- hour water cut from noon May 14 to noon May 15 in view of essential repair work of the Morbe main pipeline. The affected areas include Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe, Sanpada, Kopar Khairane, Ghansoli and Airoli.

The pipeline, which supplies water to the city from the Bhokarpada water treatment plant, has been facing repeated leakages, especially near Agroli Bridge and below Chikhale village. To fix these issues, NMMC is moving ahead with the second phase of the pipeline replacement project.

As per the information shared by NMMC, the effect of water cut will be felt most in Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe, Sanpada, Kopar Khairane, Ghansoli, and Airoli. Kharghar and Kamothe, which are under CIDCO, will also face water cuts.

The civic body has urged residents to conserve water in advance, and use water wisely.
