Turbhe: Police recovered 52 stolen and missing mobile phones collectively worth Rs 10.08 lakh and returned it to their rightful owners.

Assistant commissioner of police Mayur Bhujbal handed over the phones to owners at an event held on May 22. On this occasion, citizens appreciated and thanked the police for getting their mobile phones back.

The central government has launched the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal to trace lost mobile phones. Senior officers have instructed all police stations to trace the lost mobile phones of citizens using this portal.

Accordingly, senior police inspector Abasaheb Patil and police inspector (Crime) Satish Chabukswar of Turbhe MIDC police station reviewed the stolen and missing mobile phones registered within the police station limits through the CEIR portal.

Technical analysis led by Rohit Rathod and other officers of the team based on the information obtained using the CEIR portal, it was revealed that many mobile phones were in use in different districts and states.

The police team with the help of local police recovered the stolen and missing mobile phones.
