Belapur: CIDCO has officially activated its Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) from May 26. The centre will operate around the clock until September 30, 2025, offering citizens a reliable platform to report and resolve monsoon-related emergencies in areas under CIDCO’s jurisdiction.
Every year, CIDCO establishes EOC to manage risks associated with heavy rainfall, including flooding, waterlogging, and other related disasters.
Suresh Mengade, chief vigilance officer, CIDCO, conducted a thorough review of the EOC’s preparedness and overall functionality. He also held discussions with nodal officers, emphasizing the importance of swift and effective grievance redressal. “Officers must ensure that every citizen’s complaint is addressed promptly and with the urgency it demands,” according to Mengade.
EOC is located on the ground floor of CIDCO Bhavan in CBD Belapur and will remain operational on all days, including weekends and public holidays.
Key issues to be addressed by the EOC include tree falls and branch pruning affecting road access, replacement or fixing of open drain lids, flooding and waterlogging, road potholes, garbage accumulation on roads and in drains, incidents of drowning in flooded areas, fire emergencies, outbreaks of epidemic diseases, snakebite incidents, building collapses and landslides, etc.
