Navi Mumbai News: Chatbot service launched to provide easy and instant information to citizens

Belapur: Navi Mumbai police commissionerate becomes the first in Maharashtra to launch a chatbot service to facilitate better communication with citizens. The chatbot was inaugurated recently by the Minister of State for Home (Urban) Yogesh Kadam.
Chatbot service has been made available with the aim of providing fast, transparent and easy services to the people and in this digital era, Sanjay Kumar Patil, DCP – Headquarters, said.
The chatbot service will provide citizens with information related to the police force, procedures, complaint process information, as well as various police services.
With this initiative, citizens will be able to seek authentic information without having to go to the police station in person. Notably, citizens will be able to communicate in both English and Marathi.
To prevent crimes, security tips and preventive measures against cyber security, phishing, online fraud, theft, etc. will also be given. Citizens will also be alerted about new criminal practices.
Information like police station details, case progress, document requirements, etc. will be easily found. Guidance will be provided for online FIR, passport verification and other services.
Through the chatbot, citizens will also be connected to the appropriate officer or department. The service will be used to ensure transparent communication between the police and citizens and citizens will also be able to share their suggestions, complaints or queries directly with the police.
The communication of the people with the police administration will be more open, reliable and efficient.
