Kalyan-Dombivli: In a determined effort to eliminate drug menace from society, police have arrested 65 accused and seized narcotics worth over Rs 29 lakh.

Between October 2024 to May 2025, anti-narcotics squad seized 114 grams of ganja, 259 grams of MD, 10 grams of charas and several bottles of codeine-laced medicines. The total value of the seized contraband was estimated at Rs 29.55 lakh.

Speaking to Newsband, Atul Zende, DCP, Zone 3, said, “We are committed to breaking the drug supply chain, right from the peddlers to the suppliers. We are focused not only on detaining drug users but also dismantling the entire network that feeds this addiction.”

As part of the crackdown, night patrols have increased and so has surveillance and targeted operations. As a result, several drug hotspots in Kalyan-Dombivli have been successfully neutralized.

Police officials have also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, reinforcing that community cooperation is vital in the fight against drugs.
