Mira Road: Maharashtra transport minister Pratap Sarnaik has formally demanded a thorough and transparent inquiry into allegations made against him and fellow legislator Narendra Mehta by leaders from BJP and Shiv Sena.

In a letter addressed to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with deputy chief ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Sarnaik expressed deep concern over recent public accusations made by BJP’s Mira-Bhayandar district president Dilip Jain and Shiv Sena’s district chief Raju Bhoir.

“These allegations, particularly coming from office-bearers of coalition partner parties, have become a matter of widespread discussion in Mira-Bhayandar,” Sarnaik noted.

“As a cabinet minister representing the Mahayuti government, it is imperative that such charges, especially when made by our own alliance colleagues, be examined thoroughly and transparently," he said.

Sarnaik emphasized that unverified claims could sow discord within the Mahayuti alliance and create confusion and distrust among voters. “Such back-and-forth accusations not only damage the reputation of elected representatives but also tarnish the image of the parties and their senior leadership,” he said.

Calling for an immediate investigation, Sarnaik urged the government to probe the accusations made by BJP’s Jain against him and release the findings to the public. He also requested a similar inquiry into the allegations made by Sena’s Raju Bhoir against MLA Mehta.

“The prompt publication of these reports will help dispel misinformation and restore public confidence,” Sarnaik concluded.
