MCA Talent Hunt 2.0 gets underway in Navi Mumbai

The Navi Mumbai leg of the MCA Talent Hunt 2.0 being organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association, the governing body for cricket in Mumbai, Greater Mumbai, Palghar and Thane districts got underway at the sprawling Navi Mumbai Sports Association ground in Vashi on Friday.
Being held in three age groups in U-14/16/19 with a view to find prospective cricketers who can represent the Mumbai team, the same is being carried out under the supervision of former Mumbai Captain and India wicket keeper-batsman Sameer Dighe and his team.
Over 300 talented Boys who had registered in the U-14 age group were provided an opportunity to showcase their talent as specialised Batsmen, Wicket keepers and Bowlers throughout the day on Friday.
Earlier during the inauguration ceremony Chief Guest and former MLA Sandeep Naik while congratulating Mumbai Cricket Association for its MCA Talent Hunt 2.0 initiative across the MMR region, said “ The game of Cricket is widely played and followed across the world including India. The second edition of the MCA Talent Hunt which is being held in three age groups for raw talented Boys cricketers in its jurisdictions including Navi Mumbai is highly appreciated. I hope that the players (residing in Chembur to Kharghar along with those from Turbhe to Airoli) who will be shortlisted here under the supervision of MCA Selector Sameer Dighe here will contribute to various age groups and senior Mumbai teams in near future”.
The inaugural ceremony was also graced by Guest of Honours Sameer Dighe, MCA’s Secretary Abhay Hadap, Joint Secretary Deepak Patil and other dignitaries including NMSA’s Hon Treasurer CA Sanjay Nikam and Executive Secretary and President Medal Awardee Vasant Tajne along the with the guardians of the players in large numbers.
