Mahavikas Aghadi celebrates victory as BJP loses three Gram Panchayat elections in Uran taluka

In the recent Gram Panchayat elections held on Sunday, November 5th, in the villages of Chirner, Dighode, and Jasai within Uran Taluka, Mahavikas Aghadi, a coalition of political parties, emerged victorious, dealing a significant blow to the BJP.
In Chirner Gram Panchayat, Bhaskar Mokal, the Sarpanch candidate from Shiv Sena's Mahavikas Aghadi, secured an impressive 3,128 votes, defeating BJP's Pratik Sanjay Ghandari, who managed to garner only 1,224 votes. This victory not only secured the Sarpanch position but also saw 14 members from Mahavikas Aghadi winning the elections, while BJP was able to secure one member's position, held by Samir Dungikar.
In Dighode Gram Panchayat, the Mahavikas Aghadi's candidate for Sarpanch, Kirtinidhi Thakur, emerged victorious with 1,237 votes, soundly defeating BJP's candidate, Mahendra alias Mayur Gharat, who could only secure 792 votes. This triumph led to nine members from Mahavikas Aghadi clinching their positions, effectively removing BJP from power.
Jasai Gram Panchayat witnessed a closely contested election. Mahavikas Aghadi's Sarpanch candidate, Santosh Gharat, managed to secure victory with 1,925 votes, narrowly defeating BJP's Balisheth Gharat, who secured 1,873 votes. Out of 17 member positions, Mahavikas Aghadi won 12, while BJP secured five members' positions.
Dr. Uddhav Kadam, the Electoral Decision Officer and Tehsildar of Uran, along with Senior Police Inspector of Uran, Satish Nikam, congratulated the winning candidates and appealed for peace and harmony in the three village panchayats.
