Maharashtra SSC Board results witnesses improved 95.81 pass percentage

Konkan Division retains numero uno position, Mumbai placed fourth overall
The long wait for over fifteen lakhs SSC or Class X students in the state of Maharashtra who appeared for their first major board exams for the academic year 2023-24 came to end, following the declaration of the results by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Monday 27th May, 2024.
With an overall pass percentage 95.81, the same witnessed a marginal increase in the success ratio by 1.98 % compared to previous academic year and is the second best since 2021, where it peaked at an astonishing high of 99.94%.
Held between 1st and 26th March, 2023 across the state a total of 15,49,326 students had appeared for the Maharashtra SSC exam in the Fresher’s category out of which 14,84,441 of them, cleared their first major Board exams
Konkan Division once again recorded the best pass percentage of 99.11 % among nine divisions, followed by Kolhapur with 97.45%, Pune 96.44 % and Mumbai 95.83 %. Nagpur on the other hand registered the lowest pass percentage division with 94.73 per cent this time around.
Girls once again outshone Boys in all the streams marginally, with female students registering a pass percentage of 97.21% compared to 94.56% by their male counterparts.
Off the 15,49,326 fresh students who appeared across the state for the exams 5,58,021 got Distinction (75% and above), while 5,31,822 secured First Class (60% and above), and 3,14,866 attained Second Class (45% and above). A total of 79,732 students on the other hand passed with a Pass Grade (35% and above), resulting in an impressive pass percentage of 95.81%.
Among the 3,39,269 students from Mumbai Division who appeared for the examination, 97,354 achieved Distinction (75% and above), while 1,18,006 secured First Class (60% and above), 83,542 attained Second Class (45% and above) and a total of 26,241 students passed with a Pass Grade (35% and above)
On the other hand students in 18 subjects out of the 72 in Class X Maharashtra Board exams, did exceptionally well with 100 % result. This included vocational subjects of the likes of Tourism and Hospitality, Physical Activity Facilitator, Electronics Technology, Domestic Data Entry Operator. Vernacular languages of the likes of Bengali, Sindhi (first language), French too among others too witnessed 100 percent results.
A substantial number of students, to the tune of 1,78,865 were also awarded extra marks for their achievements in various extracurricular activities at State or National level in Sports, NCC, Art, Dance and Music.
Within the Mumbai division, students from Raigad district topped with 96.19 pass percentage, followed by Palghar 95.55%, Mumbai (Suburbs 1) 94.75 % and Greater Mumbai 94.60 %. On the other hand Thane District (which includes schools from Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation) with 94.48% placed fifth overall among six districts above Mumbai (Suburbs 2) which recorded 93.41%.
A substantial number of Schools (9,382) across the state registered 100% Pass Rate of which Thane itself recorded over 250 of them. Agnel Multipurpose School – Vashi, Sacred Heart High School – Vashi, St. Mary's Multipurpose High School – Vashi, St. Xavier’s High School – Nerul, St. Augustine High School – Nerul, NMMC Madhyamik Vidyalaya – Pawane Gaon, Smt. Radhika Meghe School – Koparkhairane, Dnyan Vikas Sanstha's High School – Koparkhairane, Christ Academy – Koparkhairane, Vidyabhavan Madhyamik (Marathi) – Nerul, Vidyabhavan Madhyamik (English) – Nerul, , Chhatrapati Shikshan Mandal`S High School – Sanpada, SBOA Public School – Nerul, Sai Holy Faith School – Koparkhairane, Dnyanpushpa Vidyaniketan – CBD Belapur, Dr.Sitaram Vishwnath Samant Vidyalaya –Turbhe, Sarswati Vidyalaya – Airoli, Smt.S.Deshmukh Vidyalaya – Airoli and Jaihind Vidyalaya – Airoli.
